Gold Trading for Beginners
A free beginner's introduction to the gold market: what gold is, how it is quoted, what moves it, and why risk management comes first.
Beginners are usually shown entries first and risk last. We do the reverse, because the order determines whether someone learns anything durable.
This page is the starting point of our free eight-step beginner path.
Step one is vocabulary
Bid, ask, spread, spot, troy ounce, XAU/USD, leverage, margin, drawdown. Until these are clear, every explanation that uses them is noise. Our glossary defines each one in plain language.
Step two is reading, not predicting
A chart records what participants did. It does not forecast. Learning to describe a market as trending, ranging, or volatile is the genuinely useful skill; certainty is not on offer from any method.
Step three is protecting capital
Position sizing turns an abstract risk preference into a concrete quantity. Written rules made before money is at stake reduce improvisation under pressure. Journals surface repeated behaviour that memory hides.
Education improves understanding. It does not guarantee profitable outcomes, and past performance does not guarantee future results.
